Maria has been a Professional Organizer for a little over 30 years. She has worked with homeowners and small business owners in reducing/controlling clutter, paperwork and financial management, organizing closets, cabinets, garages, and general organizing and efficiency. Helping people improve their lives through better organization is her passion.
Seven years ago, Maria’s mother, at 84, was ready to move from her townhome to an independent living facility and needed help with that transition. With diminishing vision, due to macular degeneration, Tommie (Maria’s mom) was finding daily tasks like cleaning, cooking and grocery shopping to be increasingly difficult. And she felt that an independent living facility would provide her with the additional level of safety and social connection that she desired. After locating a new home for her mom, Maria began the emotionally and physically challenging task of helping Tommie downsize her things to fit in her smaller residence. The empathy and patience required to help a person (especially your own mom) sort through years of memories to decide what to keep and what must be let go of cannot be overstated. It was nothing short of overwhelming, despite her years of organizing experience. This led Maria to the decision to include helping seniors and their families with this downsizing process. She will be your partner in this important and necessary work to transition to the next phase of your life.
In September of 2017, Maria and her husband Robert relocated to Whitefish, MT. Leaving her home, friends and clients in Austin was a big change, but Maria is looking forward to resuming her organizing, bookkeeping and senior move management business in the Flathead Valley.
